Severe fire risk

Amid national calls to ban disposable BBQs due to the fire risk, the Parish Council reminds you that the lighting any sort of fire on Felton Common without permission is against the bylaws. The grass will be tinder dry after such hot weather, so please don’t have barbecues in ANY parks or public spaces.

Disposable barbecues that have been abandoned can still end up causing a fire, as hot coals can smoulder and pose a real fire risk for some time after the flames die down.

Please help us to avoid a repeat of the devastating 2020 fire in Devon that was caused by someone having a barbeque.
