North Somerset’s mobile library visits a large number of communities in North Somerset, including Winford, Felton, Lulsgate and Regil. The mobile library is part of LibrariesWest (the collective name for all libraries in Bath & North East Somerset, Bristol, North Somerset, Somerset and South Gloucestershire). If you use libraries in any of these areas, you can use the same library card on the mobile library. If you don’t have a library card, why not join on the mobile library and see what libraries can offer you? All you need is some identification showing your name and address and it only takes a few minutes to join up. A full list of stops and times can be found by clicking here www.n-somerset.gov.uk/libraries
On board the mobile library you’ll find a range of books including fiction and non-fiction on a wide variety of subjects. We carry regular and large print books, as well as talking books on both cassette and CD. Don’t worry if you borrow something from the mobile library and it’s a bit late coming back – no overdue fees are charged for items which are borrowed from the mobile library but returned late. If we don’t hold the item you’re looking for, you can reserve it for just 50p per item and we’ll let you know when it’s available for collection.
If you think you might find it difficult getting on and off the mobile, we can help with that as well. The steps can easily be converted into a lift to provide an easy and safe way to get on and off the vehicle. Our friendly and knowledgeable staff are happy to help in any way they can.
The mobile library is also available, on Thursday mornings, to attend community events. We can visit pre-schools and hold a Rhymetime for the children or a village coffee morning and give a short talk on library services. This service is free; just ask staff for more details or email email@example.com
